Privacy policy

Who the controller is

This policy covers the auteno.app website and the app.auteno.app application. The data controller is Javier Bellot Pérez (Spanish tax ID 74387027J), at Calle Fernanda Santamaría, 93, 03203 Elche (Alicante). For anything about your data, write to hola@auteno.app. The Spanish version of this policy is the one that prevails.

If you have an Auteno account

When you create your account and use the app, we process:

• your email, your name and the price you charge per class;
• what you enter: students, classes, payments, expenses, schedules and the details of your public booking page;
• how you found us: the page you came from, the language, the referring website (domain only) and, if you arrive from a campaign, its UTM parameters.

We use them to provide the service: storing your information, showing it to you and sending your account emails. The legal basis is the contract you accept when you sign up (Article 6.1.b GDPR). We use how you found us only to learn how people hear about us, based on legitimate interest (Article 6.1.f). We don't sell your data or use it for advertising.

Whatever you put on your public page (name, profession, contact, schedule) can be seen by anyone with the link: that is what it is for. If you turn on the WhatsApp button, your number is inside the button's link and anyone who opens the page can see it too. It is off by default: it is only published if you turn it on, and you can turn it off at any time.

To improve the app we measure how it is used: which screens you open and a few steps, such as creating your account, finishing the first steps or recording your first payment. We identify you only by your account's internal number, never by your email or name; we don't record your screen or use cookies. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in improving the app (Article 6.1.f). You can object by writing to us, or by turning on “Do Not Track” in your browser: the app then measures nothing.

Your students' data

The data a teacher enters about their students, and the data a student leaves when asking for a slot on a teacher's public page (name, email and, optionally, phone), belong to the teacher. The teacher is the controller, and Auteno processes that data on their behalf as a processor, only to provide the service and under the terms of use.

If you are a student and want to see, correct or delete your data, ask your teacher. If you write to us instead, we'll pass it on and help them answer you.

The emails we send

Only the ones needed to use the app: codes and links to sign in, confirm your account or change your email or password, and booking notices (to the teacher when someone asks for a slot, and to the student when their request is received, accepted or declined). We don't send newsletters or advertising.

If you joined the waiting list

The waiting list no longer exists. If you joined it, we use your email once to invite you to open your account, which is what we promised when you signed up. The invitation creates the account with your email and how you reached us, and from then on it is treated like any other account. If you won't use it, write to us and we'll delete the account and your waiting-list entry.

Who helps us

These providers process data on our behalf, under their data processing agreements:

• Supabase: database, accounts and server functions, with servers in Frankfurt, Germany. It is a US company; any access from outside the EU is covered by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
• Resend: sending emails (USA, certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework).
• Vercel: hosting for the website and the app, and anonymous visit analytics for the website. It is a US company and the data that goes through its servers may be processed there, under its own privacy policy.
• PostHog: usage analytics inside the app, with the data hosted in the EU (Frankfurt). It is PostHog Inc., a US company. No cookies and no recordings: it only receives a pseudonymous identifier for your account.

How long we keep it

For as long as you have your account. If you delete it, everything is deleted right away: your profile, students, classes, payments, expenses, bookings and your Link-in-bio.

Your rights

You can access, correct or delete your data, and also object to or restrict its processing, or ask to take it with you. You can do most of this yourself in the app: your data is editable on each screen, payments and expenses can be downloaded, and “Borrar la cuenta” (delete account) in Settings deletes everything. For anything else, write to hola@auteno.app. If you believe your data has not been handled properly, you can file a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es).

Cookies and storage

We don't use tracking or advertising cookies. Vercel's analytics on the website counts visits in aggregate, with no cookies or personal identifiers. The website only sets the auteno_lang cookie if you change the language in the footer, to remember it for a year. The app stores your session and a few preferences in your browser (for example, how far you are through the first steps). The app's usage analytics (PostHog) uses no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. All of this is strictly necessary and does not require your consent.
